Sports Massage

For many skiers/snowboarders on holiday, it is their first week of the year indulging in intense exercise and their bodies are really not attuned to it.  Burning quadriceps, tight hamstrings, aching "glutes" and sore calf muscles, strained by ski boots that force a forward tilt with almost constant restriction.  Massage therapy’s circulation boosting and soothing effect helps tired muscles and helps prevent injury for these occasional athletes.

Anyone who has ever cruised down mountain slopes knows that while skiing/snowboarding are tremendously exhilarating ways to spend a day, they can also take a toll on the body.

As an avid skier and snowboarder I understand exactly which muscles suffer during both activities and the requirements for recovery from over use using specific massage techniques, neuromuscular techniques and assisted stretching techniques, together with techniques for warming the muscles pre-activity.

Massage is believed to raise the levels of the body’s natural painkillers and also releases muscle spasm, reducing the pressure on nerve endings that can cause pain and relaxes tight muscles that can cause pain during activity.  Massage is the perfect solution to tired muscles that do not perform as well as they should after tough days on the slopes.
